Students Requesting Preceptorship Assistance
The MD: Chesapeake Chapter of NAPNAP recognizes the challenges that many pediatric and family nurse practitioner students encounter when arranging a clinical practicum experience. Each year we receive multiple requests for assistance with placements. Due to the sheer volume of requests the Chapter is unable to facilitate clinical practicum for individual students. Most of the major children’s health systems in the region have an Advanced Practice Provider placement coordinator to facilitate placements however some require placements to come from the NP Program, rather than the individual student. We encourage students who are local to attend our many Chapter educational events in order to network with future colleagues, and if not local, to join the NAPNAP Chapter in their area. Networking and making new connections is a terrific way to open professional doors. Additionally, if you join NAPNAP you will be able to post on the list-serve to connect with providers in your area. We applaud your dedication to the health of children and wish you tremendous success in your graduate program.
